Coastal Women's Healthcare stands with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), society of MFM, and the CDC in recommending COVID-19 vaccination in pregnancy and lactation. The vaccines have been shown to be safe in pregnancy and significantly reduce the risk of severe complications in the setting of a COVID-19 infection.

CWH will not write or sign for a deferral/exemption in pregnancy or lactation. If requested, we can provide you with a signed letter confirming your pregnancy and due date to provide your employer should they interpret pregnancy or lactation as a reason to defer/exempt from vaccination. If you plan to ask other OB/GYN practices to sign a deferral/exemption, you should be aware that they are following the same guidelines as stated above.
