Coastal Women’s Healthcare offers Obstetrical and Gynecological ultrasound to our existing patients. Ultrasounds will be ordered by your physician when clinically necessary.
Pelvic ultrasounds are used to assess the uterus and ovaries. Obstetrical ultrasounds are performed to evaluate the fetus for size, age and anatomical abnormality.
To ensure that the sonographer gives you the best care possible, we ask that children under the age of 5 be accompanied by an adult. The child and accompanying adult will be asked to wait in the waiting room while the initial ultrasound exam is performed. Once measurements and images have been obtained, the sonographer will then retrieve the remaining family members from the waiting area to join the patient in the ultrasound room.
